By using our services Customers are bound by our Terms & Conditions.

 

Customers must be aware that Hard Pressed For Time will not be held responsible for the following:

Items not carrying a care label will only be cleaned at owner’s own risk.

Your garment must be able to withstand the dry cleaning process.

We cannot be responsible for fading of garment’s or the wear and tear and the fastness of colour.

The customer should remove any valuable buttons, beading, linings, appendages etc, before sending for dry cleaning.  

Any of the above left on the garment while dry cleaning is at the customer’s own risk.  We will not be responsible for customer errors.

Personal Items Please check all of your garments for money, jewellery or other valuables prior to depositing them with us. If we find any valuables in your garments, we will make every effort to return them to you but we cannot be held liable for the loss of any such articles that are forwarded to us.

Treating stains.  We do not guarantee the removal of any stains. The basic price of dry cleaning does not include the removal of stains. Removal is often made easier if the stain is identified at the time of leaving the garment.  It is important that you tell us if there are unusual stains as we can treat them before dry-cleaning your garment.

An extra charge may apply where garments need extra treatment, depending on the time and costs involved.

Stain Removal We aim to remove all stains but in some cases this is not possible. The chances of stain removal are reduced if any non-professional techniques have been applied such as the use of water or soda. We treat problematic stains with great caution but sometimes to achieve results we need to use harsher techniques and chemicals. Should the need arise we will contact you before going ahead as certain stain removals can only be done at the customers own risk. We may not be able to guarantee the results.

Re-Cleaning Policy Within two (2) days of collection or delivery, you may return any dry-cleaned items if you are not completely satisfied with the quality of our cleaning, and we will re-clean them free of charge. Collection & Delivery, time and dates are only estimates and do not form a contract.  Times may vary due to volume, breakdown and outside influences.

Silk Dresses / Garments. If your dress / garment is made of silk and is being cleaned for the first time, you should be aware that even when using the most delicate dry cleaning techniques, there is a very remote possibility of very slight texture, or size changes to the silk. We are advised by various up market bridal stores and dressmakers so we can assure you of our specific experience when treating silks.

Sequins.  Some sequins are not dry - cleanable, if they are plastic based or put on with adhesive the sequins may come off and/or melt during the dry cleaning process.

Laundry All service washes are washed at 40 degrees and tumble dried. It is the responsibility of the customer to check that garments can be cleaned this way, Hard Pressed For Time Dry Cleaners cannot be responsible for shrinkage or colour runs. Therefore request that customers sort into whites & coloured laundry.

Curtain Cleaning All curtains can shrink but it is usually minimal and in the dry cleaning process the majority of curtains do not shrink.

A contributory factor to shrinkage can also be the atmospheric conditions, humidity and temperature they have been exposed to during use. Material manufactures are required to ensure that fabric shrinkage will not exceed 3% and an allowance to this degree should be made when making up the curtains. Hems can be let down to compensate for shrinkage, however this may leave a wear line.

FADING. Most curtain fabrics fade during use even with linings attached. Some areas can be more affected

especially the edges. Removal of the dust and general soiling can on occasions make the fading more prominent after cleaning. Velvet is the most vulnerable material. Curtain linings may shred due to sun damage.

WATER and CONDENSATION. Staining caused by water or condensation cannot be removed in the dry cleaning process and may become more prominent after cleaning.

COVERS.  Generally suite, chair and cushion covers recommended for dry cleaning, respond well to the dry cleaning process. One of the exceptions is certain types of printed cotton fabric. There are occasions when customers have been disappointed with the result. This is due to some fabrics being affected by the following.

A)Fading during use. This fading becomes more prominent after dry cleaning

B)The colour in areas subjected to friction during use, often has the top surface partially removed. This colour loss is more prominent after dry cleaning.

WEDDING ATTIRE As a member of the TSA, whilst all reasonable care will be taken, we cannot be held responsible for:-

Full stain removal while we endeavour to remove as much staining as possible we cannot guarantee 100% removal.

Bead/sequins - melting, colour loss or becoming loose or total loss. Care labels do not cover embellishments

Colour run from contrasting panels. While we will check for fastness this cannot always be guaranteed.

Colour mark-off from trims or confetti.

Poorly written or nonexistent care labels. At owners risk.

Shrinkage - Silk and viscose may shrink in the presence of water.

Staining/ Colour loss from alcoholic /sugar based drinks as do not always show up as stains before cleaning but may become apparent afterwards.

Loss and Damage Policy In the unlikely event of damage please inform us within 24 hours of receiving your garment. Count discrepancies must be reported within 24 hours of our delivery or collection of your garments. After that we will not assume any responsibility for damaged or missing items. We will investigate any complaint promptly and pay fair compensation for damage or loss due to our negligence. (Please allow up-to 10 working days to fully investigate claims) Liability is limited to six times the price charged for cleaning, repair or pressing. In the event of damage if we determine we are responsible then we will replace the item or offer a service credit agreed by both parties. If it is unclear who is responsible for the damage then we will arrange for an independent analysis by a fabric care research laboratory( payable by customer). Restitution will be made based upon the lab’s report.

In the event of loss we will provide the depreciated fair value of that garment. (Liability is limited to three times the price charged for cleaning, repair or pressing). The value of the garment depends on the age of the item.

Hard Pressed For Time reserves the right to refuse service to any customer. By using our services you are bound by our terms & conditions.

 

Customers are reminded Garments not collected will be disposed of after 3 Months  

Hard Pressed For Time Dry Cleaners reserve the right to dispose of garments without further notice.
